Jessica Blair
Professor Jessica Blair is a Professor of Antimicrobial Resistance at the University of Birmingham, UK. Her research group investigates the molecular mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance in Gram negative bacteria and in particular the role of efflux pumps in AMR and bacterial physiology. She completed her undergraduate degree in biological sciences at the University of Oxford in 2006 before moving to the University of Birmingham where she completed her PhD in Antimicrobial resistance in 2009. She stayed in Birmingham to start her own lab after receiving a BBSRC David Phillips fellowship in 2015 and became a Professor in 2023. Professor Blair is now also the Editor in Chief of npj Antimicrobials and Resistance.
