Phoebe Webster

Phoebe Webster is a Technical Officer for Microbiological Diagnostic Unit Public Health Laboratory (MDU-PHL), Victoria, Australia. Her current role focuses on molecular diagnostics, whole genome sequencing and innovative testing. Phoebe has a clinical microbiology background, and has experience working with a broad range of pathogens in diagnostic settings, including antimicrobial resistance, sexual health, enteric pathogens and SARS-CoV-2. Between 2021-2023 she performed point of care diagnostic testing for SARS-CoV-2 around the state of Victoria as a field leader and operator of the Doherty Institute/Royal Melbourne Hospital mobile laboratory ‘Lab-Van’. Phoebe completed a Bachelor of Biomedicine (BBmed) at the University of Melbourne in 2018 and has been working at MDU PHL since 2019.
