Sanmarie Schlebusch
Dr Sanmarié Schlebusch is the Medical Director Microbiology, Virology, and Genomics at the Queensland Health Public and Environmental Health Reference Laboratories. She is also a Clinical Microbiologist at Pathology Queensland and Vice Chair of the NATA Board of Directors. She is the co-chair for the Communicable Diseases Genomics Network (CDGN) Teaching, Training and Curriculum Working Party and co-chair for the CDGN Metagenomics working party. She is an examiner for the RCPA NPAAC microbial genomics exams for medical microbiologists. Dr Schlebusch is the leading CI for the Queensland laboratory node of the Meta-GP program, which is a collaboration in metagenomics between Australia’s leading researchers in pathogen genomics and clinical infectious diseases. She has also been undertaking research on the effects of antibiotics on the gut microbiome using a metagenomic approach, with the University of Queensland.
