Cong Ma
Prof. Cong Ma graduated with a Ph.D. in Chemistry at the Ecole Polytechnique, France, and worked as a postdoc fellow at MIT in the USA. The research field of Prof. Ma took a sharp turn towards microbiology when he joined the University of Newcastle, Australia as a research fellow to work on bacterial transcription and antibacterial agent discovery. Starting an independent academic career at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, he is currently an associate professor with research interests in novel antibiotic drug discovery and development. Prof. Ma has published >50 research articles and > 10 patents. He won the Global Innovation Award at the 2019 TechConnect World Innovation Conference & Expo and co-founded Ynno Med Ltd, a drug discovery company.
