Matthew T Doyle
Dr Doyle completed his PhD in 2015 at the Research Centre for Infectious Diseases (Adelaide) with A/Prof Renato Morona. He then worked in the USA with Dr Harris Bernstein (NIDDK/NIH) receiving the Director’s Award (2020) recognising his development of a new method to study the function of a potential antibiotic target. Using in vivo biochemical and structural biology techniques, he led projects published in Nature Communications, Molecular Cell, mBio, and Cell that uncovered steps in bacterial transmembrane β-barrel folding pathways. In 2022, Dr Doyle established the laboratory of Bacterial Outer Membrane Biogenesis at The University of Sydney.
