Susan Noonan

A Bioinformatician, and Educator, with over 25 years of experience in the health sector. My health career has evolved to merge clinical expertise with a passion for pathogen genomics, public health, and enhancing surveillance mechanisms. Leveraging cutting-edge technologies and advanced data science skills I am contributing to the early detection and mitigation of infectious diseases. My research project at the Doherty Institute Microbiological Diagnostic Public Health Laboratory has focussed on pathogen genomics. Using bioinformatics tools I have developed a framework for species identification and antimicrobial resistance profiling to support early diagnosis of infectious diseases.
